Summer in Seattle! It's hard to find a more beautiful place to be. Why travel when you can play tourist in your own city?

Schedule a visit to the Amazon Spheres and grab a General Porpoise doughnut in the Understory, check out the Wing Luke Museum (we can't wait to see sashiko artist Megumi Shauna Arai's new installation), visit the stunning new Nordic Museum and stop at the Ballard Locks (live music every weekend!) and Totem House for a fish-wich and shake.

Summer at SAM Thursdays and Saturdays at the Olympic Sculpture Park July 12 - August 23rd  Live music, food trucks, art-making, yoga, zumba, and more, all with a view of the Sound and Olympics.

Georgetown Garden Walk July 8th Without a doubt, the most interesting garden tour in the city with a mix of modern development and old-school charm, industrial elements and Georgetown whimsey. Share a Manny's with your garden host and make new friends.

Capitol Hill art walk July 12th and Ghost Gallery  Check out field tripper and artist Chris Cites show, AUSTRALIANS, featuring recreated 1920's mugshots done with acrylic on paper bags, runs through August 5th.

Vashon Island Strawberry Festival July 20 - 22 Come for the street dancing and stay for the shortcake, escape the city for the island life. Skip the ferry lines and reserve an electric bike at Vashon E-Bike, kayak rentals too!

Bicycle Sundays  June 24th, July 8th, July 15th Cruise Lake Washington Boulevard in style while it's closed to car traffic, don't forget a picnic lunch and your swimsuit.

Shakespeare in the Park starting July 13th  Greenstage will be celebrating their 30th year of performing in over twenty parks all over the city.

Bastille Day at Le Pichet July 14th, with France in the World Cup finals, this year's celebration should be especially lively! Live music and Parisian street food...vive la France!

U-pick berries, raspberries and blueberries will be ripe any minute -- discover a new favorite spot and support local farmers.

Rent a kayak or canoe at the UW Waterfront Activities Center, paddle through the lilly pads of Union Bay and the Arboretum.
