sashiko mending with suzanne northcott june 9th

$95.00

We all have a beloved pair of jeans or denim jacket — the ones with thread-bare spots from years of wear. Here is your chance to give your denim a new and improved life in this hands-on workshop exploring sashiko embroidery. Sashiko is a traditional Japanese embroidery style used for repairs and reinforcements while employing decorative design.

We'll provide all the supplies and instruction to mend, patch and customize your denim using sashiko methods. By practicing "mindfulness" through mending, we will create unique designs and patterns. Field trippers will take home their own sashiko kit (valued at $35), just bring your favorite denim pieces and be ready for fun!

Suzanne Northcott is an interdisciplinary artist whose explorations have crossed into the worlds of poetry, video, photography, and textile. She is a champion for upcycling and the zero-waste movement.
